There are a total of 97 Civil War CDV's. 65 of the CDV's are military officers and are signed by the officers. Of these, one is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln by Matthew Brady. There are 21 CDV's of Brazilian slaves and 11 of the Brazilian scenery,

Col. Bigelow's Civil War Stereoviewer & 49 Cards,  labeled Picket Reserve,134th Ill. Vol. Inf., Columbus, Ky, J. Carbutt, Photographer, Chicago, Part of a collection of Civil War items of Colonel John C. Bigelow, who held the position of honorable distinction as Lt. Col. during the Civil War, commanding the 134th Illinois Infantry. He was Captain in the original Zouaves at the beginning of the Civil War.
